Southern Delaware Foot and Ankle was the first in Delaware to offer this newer type of minimally incision bunion surgery. We are proud to offer “big city” surgical options locally. These MIS techniques utilize specialized instruments that allow for bony correction through small incisions. Live xrays (fluoroscopy) in the operating room allows the surgeon to visualize bone cutting, realignment, and stabilization of the bone with screws.
MIS surgery not only offers tiny incisions with minimal disruption of soft tissue but can also lead to less postoperative pain, a walking recovery, shorter operative time, and an overall easier recovery. MIS techniques can be incorporated in many different procedures in the foot and ankle. Ask our doctors if minimal incision bunion surgery might be right for you.
